Display All Deals (Active + Dead) in the Inventory Dashboard
Please consider updating the Deals column within the Inventory Dashboard to include all Deals associated with a VIN or stock number, not just Active Deals. Ideally, selecting the Deal count would display the complete history of both Active and Dead Deals, allowing managers to quickly review prior activity and customer interactions. Why this Matters The current dashboard only reflects Active Deals, which provides an incomplete picture of shopper activity on a vehicle. For an Inventory or Used Vehicle Manager, reviewing Active Deals is only part of the job. Equally important is reviewing Dead Deals to identify opportunities to revive previous shoppers, understand why deals were lost, and make informed pricing decisions. While our IMS (VinCue) reporting contains both Active and Dead Deals, it isn’t nearly as efficient as having that information directly within the CRM where the activity history, notes, communications, and timeline can be reviewed without switching applications. Current Limitation Today, if a vehicle generated three leads that all eventually became Dead Deals, the Inventory Dashboard displays: Deals: 0 This is misleading because that vehicle actually generated meaningful shopper interest. Conversely, a vehicle that has truly received zero inquiries also displays: Deals: 0 From an inventory management perspective, those are two very different situations. Business Impact A Used Vehicle Manager’s pricing strategy should differ based on the complete opportunity history of a vehicle. For example: * Vehicle A: Three shoppers submitted inquiries, but all Deals are now Dead. * The manager may choose to delay a price reduction. * Previous shoppers can be contacted to uncover objections or determine if circumstances have changed. * There may still be an opportunity to preserve gross profit through follow-up. * Vehicle B: No shopper activity whatsoever. * The lack of market interest is a stronger indicator that pricing may need to change immediately. * The manager may choose to reduce price sooner to increase market visibility and avoid additional aging. Today, both vehicles appear identical because the Dashboard reports 0 Deals, despite representing very different market signals. Suggested Enhancement * Display the total Deal count (Active + Dead) within the Inventory Dashboard. * Allow managers to expand or click the count to view: * Active Deals * Dead Deals * Deal status * Optionally, display the counts separately (for example: 2 Active / 5 Dead) while still providing the combined total. Benefit Providing the complete shopper history on every vehicle would give inventory managers a much more accurate understanding of market demand, improve pricing decisions, create additional opportunities to revive previous shoppers, and ultimately help dealerships maximize gross profit while reducing unnecessary aging and wholesale losses. This enhancement would transform the Deals column from simply showing current activity into a true measure of historical market interest, making the Inventory Dashboard a more valuable operational tool.
