Enhanced Customer Wishlist Segmentation by Vehicle Type and Price Range
We would like to request a feature enhancement to DriveCentric’s customer wishlist alert system that allows customers and dealership staff to segment vehicle preferences by body style/type and price range, rather than being required to select a specific make and model. Current Limitation: The current system primarily prompts for a make and model selection, which limits functionality for customers who are more flexible or undecided in their search criteria. For example, many customers are simply looking for an SUV between $10,000 and $15,000, rather than a specific brand or model. This limitation also affects our ability to cast a wider net with automated alerts when inventory is added. Proposed Enhancement: Add functionality that allows: Selection by vehicle type or body style (e.g., SUV, Sedan, Truck, Boat, ATV, UTV) Entry of price range parameters Optional (not required) filters for Make, Model, Trim Use Case Benefits: More Accurate Customer Matching Helps connect generic buyer preferences to inventory quicker. Especially valuable for budget-focused buyers. Stronger Inventory Visibility Improves exposure of incoming and existing inventory to more customers, especially those waiting on trades or fresh arrivals. Critical for Powersports Dealers Powersports dealers often stock dozens of brands across UTVs, ATVs, Boats, etc. Grouping by type and price makes the system far more usable. Example: A customer wants “any 2-up ATV under $10,000” — this feature allows us to track and notify them effectively. Faster Turnover of Aged Units By matching more buyers to broadly defined categories, older units that meet general needs can be cleared out more easily. Multi-Faceted Use Case: This isn’t just a nice-to-have — it’s a multi-industry enhancement that benefits both traditional automotive dealers and powersports dealers managing complex inventory from multiple manufacturers.
