I have recently been trying to upload videos to DriveCentric on the mobile app, and unless it's specifically being sent directly from my device to a multimedia text message, the upload always fails.
My assumption is that I am uploading videos over a certain length or size limit. Each video that I have recorded is around 2~3 minutes in length and the file size strays into the 200~300 MB range. They are simple walkaround videos demonstrating the basic features of vehicles that clients have shown interest in. Presently, it is unclear what my file size limit is, and so my assumption is that I have time to record brief demonstration videos as necessary.
However, if I send the videos to a textable phone number, the system doesn't mind the size of the video file.
What I have tried:
  • Uploading a local file on my phone to an email address
  • Uploading a local file on my phone to DriveCentric's Video Library
  • Uploading a video to an email address or textable phone number using the in-app recording option
What I have not tried:
  • Recording slightly shorter videos
Expected Result:
  • The video sends to the client directly or uploads to the DriveCentric video library properly
  • Feedback telling me before the upload finishes that my file is too large to upload
Actual Result:
  • Using any option for video files outside of uploading the file directly from my phone to text has a 100% failure rate
Device used to record and upload these files:
Samsung Galaxy A54, running Android version 14, One UI version 6.1
DriveCentric version 7.62.0
Would love clarification on this issue, and if there's something that can be done to mitigate the failed video uploads. Thank you!
