Turn off appointment confirmation for tentative appts

It would be lovely if there was a way to either turn off automated appointment confirmations for tentative appointments, or have a tentative appointment category that I could book the appointment under instead of sales, that will not send the automated text.

I want to take a moment to emphasize the value of setting tentative appointments with our clients. Even if a customer isn’t 100% certain they can commit, getting an appointment “on the books” is critical for a few reasons:
Sales Tracking & Hot Deals – Tentative appointments help us keep a closer eye on active opportunities, especially when clients are considering ongoing promotions or “hot deals.” This ensures we stay ahead of the competition and can move quickly when they’re ready.
Client Commitment – Even a tentative time provides a stronger sense of commitment from the client compared to an open-ended conversation. It creates structure and urgency around their decision-making process.
Touchpoint for Follow-Up – If the client doesn’t make the appointment, it still gives us a natural reason to follow up and re-engage them. This helps maintain momentum and keeps MINI of Austin top of mind.
We try to make it a habit to always try and set a time, even if it’s tentative. It’s not just about the appointment itself—it’s about strengthening the relationship, creating more opportunities, and keeping the deal alive.

Hey Madeleine Doucet, thanks for your feedback! I have a few more questions for you:
- What specific scenarios or types of appointments do you consider as 'tentative'?
- How often do you encounter the need to categorize appointments as tentative?
- Would you prefer a manual option to toggle confirmations for tentative appointments, or an automatic system based on certain criteria?

Shelby Parker to answer your questions, 1) Often customers will say they can come in on a specific day but are unsure on what time, or they say they can come in either this day, or another (ex Tuesday or Wednesday) That is what i would consider a tentative appointment
2) I come across the need to book a tentative appointment at least once a day, if not more, and so does the rest of my team.
3) a manual option would most likely be the easiest way to use this feature as the criteria for a tentative appointment is not always the same.
