Transfering Drivers License Details

In eleads when you scanned a drivers license you could transfer all of the information to a new or existing lead. This made everything easier from beginning to end (knowing who the customer is to filling out their credit application). Having this feature is essential to my daily process and would hinder me by not having it. Looking forward to your solution!

Thanks for writing this up, Nicholas Snyder — totally hear you on how essential this is to keeping your day moving. To make sure we’re scoping the right solution, could you clarify a couple things: when you scan a driver’s license, which fields do you need to auto-populate in the lead (name/address/DOB/license #/expiration, etc.)? And do you need that to work when creating a brand-new lead, updating an existing lead, or both? Lastly, after the scan, is your expectation that it only fills in the lead record, or that it should also carry through to downstream steps like pre-filling the credit application?

Shelby Parker Thank you for getting back to me,
For the driver’s license scan, we’d want to auto-populate the full core identity set: first/last name, address, DOB, license number, expiration date, and issuing state. If available, issuing country could be included as well, but the main focus is those standard DMV fields that map cleanly into a lead.
On scope, ideally this would work in both cases — creating a brand-new lead and updating an existing one. Most of the value is in speeding up intake on new leads, but there are definitely use cases where someone walks in later and we need to append or correct existing lead data.
For downstream flow, the primary expectation is that it fills the lead record first and foremost. That said, it should also carry over into the credit application so we’re not making anyone re-enter the same information twice — that duplication is exactly what we’re trying to eliminate. Having it flow through seamlessly there would be a big win, even if it’s optional depending on the workflow.
