stop tasks during Deposit wait

Hello - some months back, I requested an enhancement to the platform for when a customer places a deposit--adding a 'deposit' button, to mitigate further contact auto-assigned tasks. A
significant
portion of our store's business is reserved vehicles. I was engaged in an offline chat to discuss /share more. Any updates - is this on the board for future enhancements? Removing these auto-populated tasks when waiting for a deposit vehicle is extremely time-consuming and tedious. Many thanks, GarethShelby Parker
Thanks for circling back on this, Gareth Grandt — totally hear you on how tedious it is to keep clearing out auto-populated tasks while you’re waiting on a deposit, especially with a high volume of reserved vehicles. To make sure we’re scoping the right behavior, could you clarify a couple things for us: when a deposit is placed, should
all
existing/upcoming auto-assigned tasks pause, or only certain outreach/task types? And what should trigger tasks to resume — delivery/sale, deposit cancellation/refund, a specific date, or a manual “resume” action? Lastly, is this something you’d want for every deposit or only certain deal types/statuses (like reserved vehicles), and which roles at your store would be using the deposit action?G

Shelby Parker hi! Lots of good things to think about. For our store, our deposit reservations are on inbound allocation as well as Locates within region, either can take days, weeks, or months. Discussing with a couple teammates, once a deposit is received, it's helpful to stop 'normal' outreach (phone, email, text) Tasks. Perhaps add a once/twice-per week Task (Mon/Th) to check status, with a Delete option for quick removal if it's unnecessary based on the specific situation (eg a 5-6mo special order). Standard post-sale Tasks could certainly resume upon being marked sold/won. A Refund is an interesting situation, likely a killed deal, so I'd hate to pester a customer who's backed out. Perhaps a business rule for automated "manager" follow-up to check if/how we addressed their concerns? This would certainly be helpful to the masses on the floor or internet sales, likely also for the managers. Does all of that make sense? Glad to share more or clarify - have an awesome Wednesday!
