Smart Vehicle Matching within Legacy Desking Tool
R
Robbie Clemmons
Currently, when working a deal inside the Legacy Desking tool, users must manually search inventory if the selected vehicle does not meet the customer’s desired payment, structure, or profitability goals.
This creates:
Slower deal structuring time
Missed opportunities to present better-fitting vehicles
Inconsistent deal optimization across sales staff
Reduced gross and lower close rates
Requested Enhancement
Add a Smart Vehicle Matching feature within the desking workflow that allows users to automatically identify alternative vehicles in inventory that better align with the deal structure.
Key Functionality Requirements
- One-Click “Find Better Match” Button
Within the desking screen, include a button that triggers a search across available inventory.
- Optimization Filters / Modes
Allow the user to select optimization goals such as:
Most Profit (maximize front-end/back-end gross)
Best Payment (lowest monthly payment)
Best Lease Structure (strongest lease terms based on incentives/residuals)
Best Loan Structure (optimal financing terms and rates)
- Dynamic Inventory Matching
System should:
Scan new and used inventory in real time
Factor in:
Incentives/rebates
Lender programs
Residuals and money factors (for lease)
Vehicle pricing and discounts
Return vehicles that improve the selected KPI
- Comparison View
Display results in a side-by-side comparison:
Current vehicle vs recommended vehicles
Payment difference
Gross profit difference
Term and structure differences
- One-Click Swap
Allow user to:
Instantly swap selected vehicle into the deal
Preserve customer structure (down payment, credit tier, etc.)

Thanks for sharing this, Robbie Clemmons — really helpful context, and I can see how a Smart Vehicle Matching flow inside Legacy Desking could speed things up and drive more consistent deal outcomes. I’m looping this into our team’s review so we can evaluate the best way to approach it, and we’ll follow up if we need any additional details from your side.
