It woul be benficial if the CRM allowed us to search by the clients address, rather than only name and phone #.

Search by address

When searching for customers in the search bar, why can't I search by address?
Shelby Parker
Thanks for raising this, Vince Contreras — totally get why searching by address would be useful. To make sure we’re scoping it the right way, could you share which address fields you’d want included (street/city/state/ZIP), and whether partial matches should work (e.g., just a ZIP or street name)? Also, what’s the main use case you’re trying to solve (finding a household, verifying a record, spotting duplicates, etc.)? And lastly, where would you expect address search to be available — just the global search bar, or also within customer lists/filters and reports?

Also when DMS pushes a deal in the crm a lot of them are not automatically recognized by the system because it is not taking the address into consideration. Besides not flagging customers with the same address only because there is a dot or small differences like ST and Street, or zip code is a range in one customer and the other is exact, even if the rest is the same.

We recently had a situation where a young customer was working with a salesperson to determine the vehicle that they wanted. The customer's parents called in separately, looking to purchase the vehicle for the young customer, and didn't mention that he had been working with anyone.
Because they were different individuals, there was no duplicate entity warning, and so we ended up having accusations of skating on our floor...Allowing the address field, as well as other relevant fields, to throw a duplicate warning - or at least let them show up in the search results! - is a standard feature on other CRMs, and would have prevented a lot of heartache in this case.

The ability to search customers by address, VIN number, or home address

- being to search customers by VIN or address or stock number; all the time

Hey Allen Tran, thanks for your feedback! I have a few more questions for you:
- Can you provide more details on how you envision the advanced search feature working?
- Are there any specific fields other than address and VIN number that you would like to search by?
- How frequently do you anticipate using this advanced search feature?

- We would like to use information other than name, phone, and email to search. A lot of families share an address but not contact information. Being able to search by their address would help connect them.
- Deal #, VIN, and trade would be awesome too.
- Multiple times a day
