Both. And two months would be perfect. One month at a time. With a year over year comparison. It will help the sales professional be more diligent in their activity as well as helping them see where they can grow.
So yes it's for all the above you mentioned. Inventory planning, salesperson performance, marketing effectiveness, and etc.

Thanks for posting this, Daniel Wyche — totally hear the value in having an easy “retro” view of prior months. Quick couple questions so we can make sure we’re aiming at the right thing: in that previous-months view, are you looking to review what was sold, what didn’t sell/close (leads or opportunities), or both? How far back do you typically need to go, and would you want a side-by-side month comparison or just one month at a time? And lastly, what’s the main decision you’re trying to drive from this (inventory planning, salesperson performance, marketing effectiveness, etc.)?
