Putting photos in notes

I’d really like Drive Centric to consider adding the ability to attach photos to internal notes. I think it would significantly improve communication and efficiency across departments.
Right now, everything is text-based, which can lead to long explanations, misinterpretation, or important details getting buried. Being able to attach a photo would allow BDC, sales, and management to instantly see what’s being referenced; whether that’s vehicle condition, trade damage, recon needs, window stickers, deal worksheets, or desking structure.
For example, instead of typing out a paragraph explaining a scratch, tire condition, or accessory, we could attach a quick photo and eliminate confusion. That reduces back-and-forth, saves time, and helps managers make faster decisions.
It would also create better accountability and documentation. A visual record inside the deal could prevent misunderstandings later and keep everyone aligned. The current portal is okay, for things like trade photos.
Overall, this would streamline communication, reduce friction between departments, and help move deals faster.

Hello Alexis Johnson! I have a few more questions for you:
- What types of photos do you envision being most frequently attached to notes?
- How do you currently handle situations where a photo would be beneficial?
- Are there any specific security or privacy concerns we should consider when implementing photo attachments?

Shelby Parker Thank you for asking.
Photos would help clearly document vehicle condition (scratches, dents for WE OWEs), window stickers, recon needs, and internal estimates that aren’t customer-facing. Instead of long text explanations, a quick image would give managers and BDC immediate clarity. It would also allow sales to upload screenshots from their phones to verify lead activity or work completed, creating a simple visual paper trail.
Right now, we often have to share photos outside the CRM via text, which breaks the paper trail and makes it harder for management or BDC to step into a deal later. We also sometimes collect trade photos or communicate with customers before they’re fully in the CRM, which causes images to be scattered across devices and platforms. Being able to attach photos to notes once the lead exists would centralize everything in one place.
While the trade portal is useful, it can get cluttered with documents and customer-facing materials. Having a separate internal-only place in notes to reference specific damage or details would keep things more organized and easier to review.
This would mostly be used for non-sensitive internal documentation, so the security risk is low compared to the operational benefit. Overall, this feature would reduce back-and-forth, improve clarity and accountability, and help move deals more efficiently.
