It would be great to have an option to open a new deal for prospecting, allowing me to explore potential opportunities without automatically creating tasks or triggering AI outreach—kind of like a behind-the-scenes look to see if I can turn it into an actual deal.

Thanks for sharing this, Shawn Baney — totally hear you on wanting a “prospecting” mode where you can explore an opportunity without kicking off a bunch of downstream automation. To make sure we’re designing this the right way, could you clarify a couple things: what’s the main goal when you create one of these prospecting deals (researching a lead, rough value estimate, checking eligibility/inventory, planning next steps, etc.)? Also, which automations specifically should stay off while it’s in that state (tasks, AI outreach, notifications, assignments, reporting/metrics, or anything else)? And lastly, what should be the trigger that turns it into a normal deal where automations begin — a button like “activate,” moving it to a certain stage/status, adding a commitment, etc.?
