When I click "$New Deal" is there a setting to leave the Salesperson field alone?

I find myself constantly having to re-assign to a salesperson, many times I have moved on and don't realize that it got re-assigned to me. Just kills the process

Hey Nick! When opening a New Deal whoever does that Action will be assigned as Sales 1. If you're opening deals but then assigning a different user you'll need to update that in the Salesperson section on the Open Deal section in the customer card.

Thanks for spelling this out, Nick Kitner — totally hear you on how much that kind of auto-reassign can slow things down. Just so we’re clear on the ideal behavior: when you click “$New Deal,” what should the Salesperson field default to (keep whoever’s already on the customer record, stay blank, or something else)? Also, what’s the usual scenario when you’re hitting “$New Deal” (manager/BDC creating deals for others, etc.), and how often does it end up assigning the wrong person? Lastly, are there any situations where you
do
want the clicker to become Sales 1 automatically, or should it never change the Salesperson at all?
