Make Wish List Matches Actually Match
rebekah pent
The Wish List feature has great potential, but currently requires far too much manual work to identify actual vehicle matches.
Interior color preferences entered in Additional Notes aren't included in the matching criteria, and mileage restrictions aren't consistently filtering results either. We're constantly receiving notifications for vehicles that don't meet our customers' requirements.
As shown in the attached example, Wish List generated four possible matches for a customer searching for a vehicle with 0–15,000 miles. After manually locating and checking each vehicle individually on our website, we discovered that none of them actually met the mileage requirement.
We can't even open the vehicle directly from the match notification to verify its details, so we're forced to exit Wish List, navigate to Inventory, and search for each vehicle ourselves.Sometimes we'll receive several match notifications only to discover that none of the vehicles actually qualify. The only other way to investigate the details is to add the vehicle to a deal.
We need more accurate matching criteria, including interior color and mileage, along with the ability to open vehicle details directly from Wish List matches.
The whole purpose of Wish List is to simplify finding the right vehicle for a customer. Right now, the amount of manual verification required defeats that purpose.

Appreciate you taking the time to lay this out, rebekah pent — totally hear you on how much manual verification this creates, and that’s not what Wish List should feel like. The details you shared (especially the 0–15,000 mile example and not being able to open the vehicle directly from the match notification) are super helpful. I’m looping this into our review with the team so we can dig into the mileage filtering consistency and what’s included in the matching criteria (like interior color from Additional Notes), and we’ll follow up if we need any extra specifics to reproduce what you’re seeing.
