My dealership requires that we get insurance binders for all clients. In trying to call to get an insurance binder, the insurance customer needed me to verify the guest's DOB. My paperwork has already been sent off-site to our admin office, creating a huge headache.

Hiya Erin Smith, thanks for this post! I have a few more questions for you:
- Can you clarify if the year of birth is sufficient or if the full date of birth is required for insurance purposes?
- Are there any specific data privacy concerns or regulations we should be aware of when storing customers' birthdates?
- Would it be helpful to have this information readily available in the CRM, or should it be stored in a separate, secure location?

Hey Shelby Parker
- The birth year is needed often to confirm the correct customer, there could be a Jr. and a Sr. with the same name at the same address. Additionally, they may ask for general confirmation of the client.
- I can't imagine there are any more data privacy concerns than already exist within the system, and this line of work in general. A big part of our jobs in the simplest of terms is filing paperwork to transfer property from our business to another party, and that requires us to record a lot of personal information. It is unavoidable.
- It would be much more helpful if there was an easier way to access the customer's full profile from the side card that populates next to their activity than having to click the "edit" button next to an address or phone number. Perhaps not their SSN, but other details.
