Fill blank information when finding customer

I had a customer come in by appointment that I could not find right away (his name was in as Jim, not James). I went to make him a profile, entered his phone and email, and Drive then found him with his email. I selected the customer, yet the phone number I got from him, and entered when searching him, was not transferred to the profile. Admittedly I should have verified his contact info before allowing him to leave, but I remembered asking him his contact information, entering it, and assumed it was then on his profile. How I am hoping this guy answers my email so I can make this deal happen.

This is really helpful context; I’m looping it to the team so we can dig into why the phone number you entered during the search didn’t carry over once the customer was matched by email. If you’re able to share any quick steps (or a screenshot) of what you did right before selecting the customer, that’d help us reproduce it faster.
