Enhanced Global Search with Keyword and Filter Capabilities

Currently, the CRM search function is limited to first and last names and phone numbers. I’d like to request a more advanced, comprehensive search feature similar to Gmail’s — one that allows users to search by keywords, notes, appointment times, tags, or any customer-related details, not just names or phone numbers.
This improvement would make it much easier to locate specific interactions or follow-ups when only partial information is known (for example, remembering a note or appointment detail but not the customer’s name). Adding filters and sorting options would also help narrow down results quickly and improve workflow efficiency.

Thank you for posting, Andrew Pelayo! I have a few more questions for you:
- What specific types of customer-related details would you like to be included in the search functionality?
- How frequently do you anticipate using the enhanced search feature in your daily workflow?
- Are there any specific filters or sorting options that would be most beneficial for your use case?

Sure! Similar to Gmail’s search or the Ctrl+F function on a webpage, it would be great to type in a keyword like “customer spoke Spanish” or “waiting on spouse approval” and instantly pull up any related results.
There are many times when I remember specific details from a conversation or note, but not the customer’s name or phone number. For example, I might want to search for:
Notes mentioning “trade-in,” “lease ends,” or “financing options.”
Appointments or notes with a certain date or time, like “3:30 PM” or “next Thursday.”
Text messages or emails where a customer mentioned something specific, such as “Rogue test drive” or “needs co-signer.”
Having the ability to filter results by note type (text, call, email, appointment), date range, or assigned salesperson would make it much easier to narrow things down quickly and find the right profile.
Overall, this would make searching more intuitive and save a lot of time during daily workflow—especially when trying to reconnect with customers or recall older conversations without having to scroll through long lists manually.
