Edit Customer Information through Contact Card When No Contact Information

Can I recommend that when opening a client profile, that clicking their name on the top left opens up a contact card where their information can be edited (name, email, phone number, address etc). The new system is confusing. A lead that comes in without phone number or email has no quickly identifiable way to edit contact information. I found out that you now need to click "Credit Application" to add this info. This isn't a particularly logical way. Our dealership utilizes some of this information to create test drive forms etc, and credit application is not the only time in which it makes sense to collect client information.

Hey All - thank you for the feedback! We released an update today that allows you to launch to the Credit App directly from the Customer Contact Card even if there is no contact information. Let us know if you have any questions!

Love the update with the new sidebar on the customer card but you have GOT to make a designated Phone / Email area that doesn't disappear just because its left blank. If you can have an 'add' button next to trade, garage, and each possible user type, then we should have one for easily adding contact info.

Hiya Caitlyn Wetherald, thanks for this post! I have a few more questions for you:
- Can you provide more details on how you envision the 'add' button for contact info to function?
- What specific contact information fields would you like to be able to add or update?
- How frequently do you find the need to update a customer's contact information after they have been added to the system?

Please have customer card go back to the way it used to be. Not having to add a step to click into the customer record, then the customer email to change the name.
There should be a way to edit the customer card right on the customer card and not having to go into the Credit App every time.

Great to hear your perspective, Nelson Gaspar! I have a few more questions for you:
- Can you please elaborate on the specific customer changes you are unable to make when pressing the green tab next to the customer name bubble?
- Could you provide an example of a situation where this functionality was particularly useful or necessary?
- Have you noticed any patterns or specific circumstances under which this issue occurs?

Shelby Parker the changes we are looking to do is update name, phone numbers and emails as often phone and internet leads come with incomplete information. It's more intuitive to click on green tab next to the customer name bubble to quickly adjust information than going to "credit app". We will be able to adapt of course either way. Thanks

Hey Aaron Ledohowski, thanks for your feedback! I have a few more questions for you:
- Can you provide more details on how you envision the contact card feature to work?
- What specific information do you need to be readily editable on the client profile?
- Can you share more about how this change would improve your workflow at the dealership?

Shelby Parker Thanks for the quick reply.
- The idea behind this is to provide quicker access to entering client information (Phone number, email, address etc). It is not a logical thought to think that an agent would need to click Credit Application to fill in this data. There are a number of leads that come in that do not initially come in with a phone number or an email. There should be a straight forward spot to enter in this data.
- Customer name, phone number, email, address should all be available and easily editable. I've attached a couple of 'mocked' up images to represent different ways of possibly accomplishing this.
a. By having a pop up contact card show up (similar to credit app page but scaled down for detail) when clicking the client name on top left of the profile, or by adding an 'edit contact card' text as I did in that section.
b. By showing the fields for phone, email, address even if not currently known (I added this field) with an edit pencil icon to easily fill in when found.
I believe either of the above options make it simpler to immediately know how to add this information in better than considering to click credit application.
- It's difficult to answer this one as this is a rather minor adjustment in my opinion - just that the existing system does not explain or show, or represent the best way to add this information in when it does not exist. Considering this is a basic thing, I had to message chat support to find out how.. And still feel weird that the suggestion was to click credit application to fill this information in for archival purpose.
Last - and perhaps this requires a second feature request...
I see the opportunity to create a new system within Drive to allow dealerships to create forms to add to the documents section that auto-populate with information already provided in the contact card and other areas.
The ability to, for example, create a system that allows Manager's to create and publish a test drive form template (and this is just one example) that my product advisors can use which auto fill name, email, phone number and address of a client + auto fill the vehicle they are test driving from the 'vehicles interested in' section would also speed up the process as much of this is currently manual and hand written.
Hopefully this helps!
