DMS Updates to Delivered Generates Store Visit

If the client does not have a store visit for that day, the CRM is adding one due to the DMS delivered update. In our case, if we have pending paperwork, coming out of a holiday weekend etc, we are having store visits added to the log for clients that “purchased” days ago which is throwing off our traffic counts. Would like to have a way to stop this from auto creation.

This is a constant issue in our store as well. I spend a lot of day tracking down and deleting auto visits. I have requested that either the visits not be added, or that Drive adds a tracking report for visits created. Then the auto visits would be very easy to locate and delete.

Yes, this auto visit is not good. It creates fake visits and distorts our traffic counts. We have a big problem with this.

Hey Tina Norton, thanks for your feedback! I have a few more questions for you:
- Can you specify the conditions under which the auto-creation of store visits should be disabled?
- How frequently does this issue occur, and does it affect all clients or only specific cases?
- Are there any specific scenarios or exceptions where the auto-creation of store visits is beneficial and should be retained?

Shelby Parker - I think it should be a setting that can be disabled all the time or enabled all the time. We are very good CRM users and we track our store visits. If a client comes in on a Friday and then comes on Monday to pick up, we do not count that as a store visit. The deal is done - it is not an additional opportunity to sell a car. Sometimes there are circumstances that delay the delivery. In the state of Massachusetts, we do not do temporary tags so if someone needs new plates, that could take a day or two especially on a weekend. Instead of helping us - it is inflating our store visit total. Traffic is a critical measurement and we use it for advertising decisions, we don’t need our CRM inflating it because if there is no same day visit then it is going to automatically enter one at delivery. Beyond that, CRM usage is important - garbage in, garbage out. I would rather know that a dealership was not accurately logging their store visits than to have the DMS pull auto create one. If a store isn’t logging then we are missing out on unsold opportunities. For us, this is more of a hindrance than a benefit.
