Critical alerts

critical alerts created by managers and other approver personnel. for example, me as the salesman browsing our inventory. we find a used vehicle our client is asking about. a critical alert can pop up with a message, like "pending UVI" or "waiting on parts for repair", or even more importantly "deposit or sold to customer".

Thanks for sharing this, Kainoa Leong-Aguon — totally see how a clear “critical alert” could prevent a lot of wasted time (or worse, a bad handoff). To make sure we’re designing it in the right places: should these alerts show only when someone is viewing a specific vehicle in inventory, or also across other areas like leads/deals and customer records? Also, who should be able to create/update the alerts vs. who should be able to see them (everyone on the sales floor, specific roles, only the assigned rep, etc.)? And when an alert pops up, what do you want the user to do in response — and what’s the line between something that’s truly “critical” (e.g., deposit/sold) versus a normal note like “pending UVI”?

Shelby Parker Aloha! I think to keep it from getting messy it should be held to just the managers being able to create these alerts or notifications, and limited to when a vehicle is clicked on to be viewed. It would be great if all sales reps and managers can see these alerts/notifications (I might be missing other key positions that may need this feature.).
Viewing was the only thing I had thought of for a user’s response, we can check with the appropriate manager if there’s an update (Service if there’s a RO on the specific vehicle; Sales Manager if the vehicle is confirmed sold to client attached to the vehicle, etc). Not sure what else could be offered in that situation.
“Critical Alert” was just the phrase I suggested since that’s what I’m used to seeing on our old system. Feel free to name it something else. Managers were able to add these alerts and type in a custom description per vehicle (ex: arriving from Mannheim, pending UIV, deposit from (customer) by (sales rep), special ordered for (client’s name), etc.)
Just suggestions! I know it’ll come down to our management team for the final say ☺️ thank you!
