Check In to the Showroom should clear Unreplied message

A customer said they arrived at the store. The salesman saw them and walked them in, and checked them into the showroom. The text sat for 30 minutes before I noticed it. By that time the customer bought. A "check in" should clear the message from my sidebar. Then the deal was marked "sold" and the message still didn't clear. They are standing in front of me, but the GM just sees the fumble.

I think it should also clear any new 'leads' from that customer that are currently on the sidebar. Our store is now using an ID scanner to validate driver's licenses before test drives and it sends every one to Drive as a new Showroom lead. For some reason this doesn't actually check the customer into the store as a visit like manually adding a showroom customer would, but it would be great if checking the customer in would also clear the 'new lead' from the sidebar. The only way i know to clear these (beside waiting for later follow up after they leave) is logging false phone calls as 'Other result done'

Hello Stephanie Jacobs! I have a few more questions for you:
- Can you provide more details on how you envision the 'check in' feature to interact with the message system?
- What is the current process for marking a deal as 'sold' and how would you like this to affect the message status?
- Can you clarify what you mean by 'the GM just sees the fumble'? What would be the ideal scenario for the GM in this situation?

Shelby Parker: A check in should clear the message. Moving a deal to sold should clear a message. It shouldn't count as a fumble if I don't respond to a customer that is in the showroom. I am actively talking to them in person. If it's too complicated to understand, you are welcome to have someone reach out via phone.
