Auto-Impersonate when clicking Reply to text

When replying to a text conversation, it would be helpful if the "from" field auto-populated the same way it does on email replies. Right now I have to manually switch who I'm responding as each time, and in a fast back-and-forth it's easy to miss — which creates confusion on the customer's end. Email handles this automatically on reply, text should do the same.

While impersonating via text

Please add the ability to set a default "Send As" identity when impersonating someone. For example, if I select "Send as Andy," that selection should remain active for all subsequent texts until I manually change it or I move on to a different screen. Having to reselect "Send as Andy" before every message is repetitive and slows down texting.

Thanks for flagging this, Sofie Lord — totally hear you on how repetitive that “Send As” re-selection would get when you’re texting while impersonating. This is really helpful context; I’m sharing it with the team so we can review the best way to support a default Send As that persists until you change screens or update it, and we’ll follow up if we need any additional details.

Thanks for flagging this, Robert Rodriguez — totally hear you on how easy it is to miss in a fast back-and-forth, and how confusing that can be for the customer. This is really helpful context; I’m sharing it with the team so we can review the “auto-populate From on text reply” behavior (similar to email) and assess next steps. If we need any additional details, I’ll follow up.
