"Add New Customer" Additional Notes Box Feature
Justin Wilkinson
When we click "Add New Customer", we should also have a notes box in that section to help us capture any other relevant customer information while we have them on the phone.

Thanks for sharing this, Justin Wilkinson — totally hear you on wanting a notes box right in “Add New Customer” while you’ve got someone on the phone. This is really helpful context, and I’m looping it into our review so the team can assess the best way to support that workflow. If you’re open to it, what kind of notes do you typically capture there (and would you want them visible to everyone or just internal)?

Shelby Parker in the notes, we want to capture if they are calling about a new or pre-owned vehicle, what vehicle features they specifically liked, we find out what they are currently driving, and we figure out if they are open to other similar inventory options. We capture these notes and then gather their full contact information before we set the in-person appointment.

The sales floor frequently takes "phone-ups" which are customers calling us directly. At the beginning of these conversations, we don't have any of their information and don't press them for it immediately to make their profile in time to submit and open up a place to write the notes in the system. While we build rapport and become trusted enough to get their personal information, we are learning about what they want and why. It would be best to take notes first as we learn their full name, email, and address. Physically taking these notes on notepads is slow and not ideal.
