Setting primary contact info

There needs to be a way of setting a particular phone number as the "PRIMARY" phone number. For that matter, the same should be provided for the email accounts.

Thanks for raising this, Ngozi Daniel — totally hear you, having a clear “primary” phone number/email would make contact management a lot smoother. To make sure we design it in a way that fits your workflow, can I ask a couple quick things: in what scenarios do you need the “primary” value to be the one the system uses (sending emails/texts, exports, integrations, customer-facing messages, etc.)? And if a contact has multiple numbers/emails, what should happen by default when no primary is set (or if the primary is missing/invalid)? Lastly, who should be able to set or change the primary field — anyone, certain roles, or only the record owner — and should it be defined per person/contact or at the account/customer level?

Shelby Parker I'm thinking it needs to be something that can be toggled at any point. There may be periods of time where it doesn't make sense to contact a person on a certain number or email. This is why I think there should be a way to change the primary contact information. If a contact has multiple numbers/emails, the default should be the first input until contact has been made, and wherever that contact is first made, the default changes to where contact was first made. After that point, if primary contact is changed by the user, so be it. In my humble opinion, managers, salespeople and the business development department should be able to change/set the primary contact information. I think it should be difined at the person/contact level.

Please add a primary phone number feature.

The ability to select a Primary contact information is a much-needed feature! A "primary" phone number and email should populate on the Customer Card Header.
"Primary" contact information on the customer card header would reduce the amount of clicks required to access pertinent contact information for technology-unsavvy users at stores which do not use Click-to-Call.

default phone

It would be helpful to add a tab to make a phone number primary or default. I have deleted a customers work number, but when I add it back as a work number the system defaults back to that phone number, it would be helpful in situations where a customer has 2 phones or a wife puts in a lead with the husbands phone number. to add her phone with out removing the husbands, (haveing husband and wifes phones in the same lead, helps prevent duplicate leads and skates)

I would love to be able to do this! Other CRM I have used allow us to move around numbers, a little box next to the number would be helpful to add what the number is, like if number mobile is customers, and number home is wife.

Make it so the default phone number is always the cell/mobile number (If available)

Hey Steve Graham, thanks for your feedback! I have a few more questions for you:
- Can you clarify if you want the cell/mobile number to be the default for all contacts or only for certain types of contacts?
- Are there any specific scenarios or use cases where you would prefer the default phone number not to be the cell/mobile number?
- Would you like the system to automatically update the default phone number to the cell/mobile number for existing contacts, or should this only apply to new contacts added in the future?
