Ability to Change Inventory from Miles to Kilometers

As a Canadian dealer, our vehicles are in km.
However, Genius responds to our customers that our vehicles are in miles. In our inventory hosted on Drive, it even shows it in miles.
How can we get our inventory to show in kilometers and have Genius respond in kilometers? There's a huge difference in this!

Use km instead of mi for Canadian Dealerships

We are in Canada and it would be great if the inventory displayed in km (kilometers) versus mi (mileage).

I now the program is relatively new to Canada but we up north here would like to see a few unit changes to the platform that would eliminate some confusion for our staff and customers. Currently all units of measurement are in Imperial. Would be awesome if we could toggle to Metric. Our vehicles show as miles but are actually all in KM so is confusing for both staff and customers. Also the Ai defaults any gas consumption to miles per gallon vs the Canadian liters per 100km.
Thanks,
Shelby Parker
Hey Ben Borlase, thanks for your feedback! I have a few more questions for you:
- Are there any other specific areas in the platform where you would like to see the unit conversion to Metric?
- Would you prefer a global setting for unit conversion or should it be customizable per user?
- Are there any other localization features, apart from unit conversion, that you would like to see implemented for the Canadian market?

- Yes mainly the vehicle inventory page, both the vlp and vdp, however anywhere that it would say miles or mpg we would prefer to see km or liters per 100km
- I think global would be best. Something a dealer admin could swap to in the dealer settings.
- We have been told that desking is coming next year so we are waiting for that. We are also waiting for the ability to pull credit from a linked dealer track account. Oh we were told that we would be able to scan a drivers license into the mobile app but that has yet to work.
Lastly while I have you is there a plan to link a car fax account so we can send the report direct via email or text.
Thanks,

Many customers continually confused by Genius indicating Canadian vehicles are in miles, even though it's posted as km in our listings. Latest Text example

Hello Dick Low! I have a few more questions for you:
- Can you clarify if you want the change from miles to kilometers to be applied across all platforms or just specific ones?
- Do you want the system to automatically detect the location and adjust the units accordingly or would you prefer to manually set the units for each dealership?
- Are there any other units of measurement in the system that you would like to have the ability to customize?

Hi Shelby Parker,
- Please apply it across all platforms.
- I don't control the other stores in our auto group; only mine. However, I can safely say from an auto group's standpoint that this should blanket all of our stores, which are all located in Canada. No need to manually adjust specific units or one dealership is allowed km while another is in miles. The system should automatically detect if the dealer is in Canada, then all mileage listings should be in km / kilometers.
- No need for customization; they should all be showing as km for Canadian stores. Customers in Canada would expect it, and would raise questions on why a vehicle is listed in miles / eg. out of country import.
Hope that helps clarify this!

Hey Rob Ferguson, thanks for your feedback! I have a few more questions for you:
- Would you like the option to switch between metric and imperial units, or should the system default to metric units for all Canadian users?
- Are there any other areas in the system where you would like to see metric units implemented, apart from the inventory display?
- Do you foresee any potential issues or challenges if we were to implement this change?

Shelby Parker all Canadian dealers should default to metric and I only see the kilometers on inventory as the issue. If there are other items that show imperial, i would adjust those to metric, but nothing comes to mind at this time.
