Ability to Change From an Internet Lead Source Post-Delivery

Currently, if your dealership Expert User has enabled the "Allow Change Source Type" preference it only allows them to change sources from another source to Internet. We need the ability to change the source FROM Internet to another Source Type as well.

As of today, if your dealership has the preference to 'Allow Change Source Type" that allows for a change of source type post-delivery, you can now change the source type FROM Internet to another source.
If you are the Expert User at your dealership and would like to learn more about this capability, please reach out here or directly to your Customer Success team.

Ability to Change Sources After Delivery

It would be helpful if we could change sources after the delivery. The way our attribution software and process works is we get all of the data after the month is over and compile it for analyzing multi-touch attribution. We can't do this mid-month or mid-sale because there are too many variables that can change throughout the process. With the limitation of not being able to change sources after the sale and when our software compiles the data, we are stuck with junk data where sales reps put in random sources (in their defense, they don't have access or time to go through attribution). At the very least, Expert Users should have the ability to change these sources post-sale to clean up our data monthly. Our lead source reporting is virtually useless until this can get fixed. Historically, we have an average of 80% or higher of our initial lead source entry being incorrect when using multi-touch attribution models. The way the system is now, it is only looking at last-touch attribution.

The ability to change Delivered Internet Leads

When an internet lead is marked delivered in drive you can no longer change the source. This creates an issue when a few days later you realize it was meant to be a phone lead and the source it now locked. It also creates a miscount in lead conversions during EOM.

This would be so helpful for tracking purposes. We know sometimes customers get added quickly without knowing the true source. I would love this

THIS! We need the ability to go back and change lead sources after a sale. Managers and Expert Users should, at the very least, have this ability like they do in most auto CRMs. The source data is junk without this ability to correct lead sources on a manager level.

I can say for us as a Smartpath dealer. We deal with duplicate leads all day that don't match up and become an ILM MST SP lead when it is already a phone up or showroom lead. And then the deals get delivered under that ILM MST SP source in error because sales staff, and managers don't really understand it, and the significance and we can't change it to the correct source after the fact now.the

Hiya Katie Dale, thanks for this post! I have a few more questions for you:
- How often do you encounter the issue of needing to change the source of a delivered internet lead?
- What impact does the inability to change the lead source have on your dealership's operations or reporting?
- Are there specific scenarios or examples where changing the lead source after delivery would be particularly beneficial?

Shelby Parker Hey Shelby!
1- It varies from store to store but for the lager ones we can see it anywhere from 2-6 times a month.
2- When pulling lead conversions for EOM they remain as a delivered internet deal when it, for example, should be under campaign. This messes up our lead counts.
3- We had to create a separate report just to take note of each months locked source leads. During the EOM we have to subtract them out to ensure accurate numbers. I would like to see accurate numbers without all that extra hassle.

I would love to see this feature added with the additional ability to change a source after the sale. Lead attribution can't be done (for us) until after the month is over and all of the data is collected so lead sourcing, as it stands now, is essentially useless to those that use post sale data to backtrack multi-touch attribution. Would love to see this feature added. Thank you!
